Privacy policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and how long we keep it.

Last updated

Prompt Copy is operated by gokeedasolutions. This policy explains what the site does with data. The short version: you can browse and copy prompts without an account, we do not sell data, and we keep as little as the site can work with.

Browsing without an account

You do not need to sign in to browse, search or copy prompts. When you use the site this way we handle:

  • A functional identifier. We set a first-party cookie (pc_vid) containing a random value. Its only purpose is to stop a single visitor's repeated clicks inflating a prompt's copy and view counts. It is stored in our records only as an irreversible hash, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with anyone.
  • Request data. Standard web server information such as the page requested and your browser's user-agent string. Your IP address is used transiently for rate limiting and abuse prevention and is stored only as an irreversible hash — we do not keep raw IP addresses alongside your activity.
  • Aggregate activity. Counts of how often a prompt is viewed, copied and saved, and the search terms entered on the site. Search terms are aggregated by term and day, not stored as a per-person history.

Raw activity records are deleted after 90 days. Only the aggregate daily totals behind our rankings are kept longer, and those identify no one.

If you sign in with Google

Signing in is optional, and exists so you can save prompts. When you do, we receive from Google and store:

  • your Google account identifier, your email address, your display name and your profile picture URL.

We never receive your Google password. We request only basic profile and email access — not your contacts, Drive or anything else. We use your email address to identify your account and, where necessary, to contact you about the service; we do not send marketing email.

What signing in creates

  • Your saved prompts, which are private to your account. Administrators do not browse individual users' saved prompts.
  • A session cookie, so you stay signed in. It is required for the site to work and cannot be switched off while you are signed in.

Cookies we set

  • pc_vid — functional; de-duplicates anonymous copy and view counts; expires after one year.
  • Session and CSRF cookies — strictly necessary for signing in and for submitting forms safely.

We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that ever changes, we will ask for consent before setting them and update this page first.

Who we share data with

Our hosting and database providers process data on our behalf in order to run the site. Google processes your sign-in if you choose to use it. We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers.

Your choices

  • Browse anonymously — simply do not sign in.
  • Clear the functional cookie — delete site data in your browser at any time; the site keeps working.
  • Access or correct your data — ask us and we will provide or fix what we hold.
  • Delete your account — request deletion from your account settings. This removes your profile and your saved prompts. Aggregate counts that identify nobody are unaffected.

Depending on where you live you may also have rights to object to processing or to data portability. Contact us and we will honour them.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe we hold a child's data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes affecting signed-in users, notify you in the app.
